About us

The Ashridge Centre for Business and Sustainability draws together a diverse team of faculty from across the disciplines within Ashridge with associates and visiting fellows. Our team combine expertise in leadership, strategy, organisational change, marketing and innovation with related fields including ecology, economics, sociology, anthropology, political economy and psychology. We frequently form partnerships with leading organisations to complement our expertise.

Matthew Gitsham

Matthew

Matt is Director of the Ashridge Centre for Business and Sustainability. He works with colleagues across the Ashridge faculty to promote thought leadership around organisational change, leadership development and sustainability. He has recently led research exploring CEO perspectives on the implications of sustainability for leadership development. This was conducted in partnership with the European Academy of Business in Society and the United Nations, and sponsored by Shell, Unilever, IBM, Johnson&Johnson and Microsoft. He teaches on a range of Ashridge programmes, including the MBA, and is Programme Director for the Integrating Corporate Responsibility programme.

Marc Jones

Marc joined the Ashridge faculty in January 2006 and teaches on tailored executive and qualification (MBA/EMBA) programmes. His research interests centre on strategic thinking, globalisation and international business strategy, and corporate social responsibility. He is currently working with corporate clients such as Continental, Danfoss, Europco, IHG, Philips and Sinopec. Marc also teaches at other institutions such as the American University of Paris, Deakin University in Australia, and the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.

Eve Poole

Eve+Poole

Eve is Deputy Director of the Ashridge Public Leadership Centre, having joined Ashridge from Deloitte in 2002. She teaches across the Ashridge portfolio of open and tailored programmes and in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Eve's focus is on leadership, emotional intelligence, personal development and ethics. Eve was the architect of the Ashridge Future Leaders Experience and continues her research into pedagogy and accelerated learning. She teaches ethics on the MBA Business and Society module, and has a PhD from Cambridge University in capitalism and theology.

Patricia Hind

Patricia+Hind

Patricia joined Ashridge in 1996. She was a Director for the Ashridge full-time and EMBA programmes, for some 10 years leading the teaching of Interpersonal Skills and Organisational Behaviour. A Chartered Organisational Psychologist her focus is developing effective leadership through self awareness, improving working relationships and contextual understanding.

Hugh Pidgeon

Hugh has extensive experience in the fields of strategic thinking, innovation and creativity, arbitration and conflict resolution, and ecologically sustainable development. He has worked with a number of leading international companies in architecture, broadcasting, renewable energy generation, the automotive and construction industries, food retailing, media telecommunications and the financial sector. He has worked with all the services of the criminal justice system in the UK, and is a trustee of the charity Prison Dialogue and of the Music Research Institute.

Chris Seeley

Chris is one of the Co-Directors of the new Ashridge Masters in Sustainability and Responsibility (AMSR). Previously, she has worked for 9 years as one of the co-facilitators in the University of Bath's MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice.

Anthony Kasozi

Anthony+Kasozi

Anthony Kasozi is an Associate with Ashridge Consulting with many years’ line management and organisation consulting experience. Anthony’s work with clients has covered a wide variety of areas including advising clients on their commercial policy and strategic effectiveness; helping businesses address organisation development and operational effectiveness issues and working with managers and business leaders on their personal and team development needs.

Visiting Fellow - Priya Matzen

Priya Matzen is Director of Corporate Responsibility at Danish based pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. In this capacity she sets the strategic direction and drives implementation of the company's corporate responsibility programmes. Her role requires her to initiate & drive change in their business decisions. She contributes to Novo Nordisk positioning as a sustainability leader by designing cutting-edge corporate responsibility programmes that add long term business value.

Nicholas Ceasar

Nicolas works in the areas of leadership development and strategy at Ashridge Consulting. He is also Head of the Sustainability Practice Group. He has ten years experience of managing and advising businesses in a wide range of areas and joined from the Scandinavian risk and management consultancy group Acona CMG prior to which he was a founder member of the Carbon Neutral Company, a Carbon Trading business.

Alexandra Stubbings

Alexandra is a Senior Consultant with Ashridge Consulting and a Programme Director for the Business of Sustainability programme. She combines experience in effecting participative organisational and culture change strategies with a strong theoretical base, to help client organisations become more sustainable, ethical and successful.

Inge Woudstra-Van Grondelle

Inge is an Associate of the Ashridge Centre for Business and Sustainability. Prior to joining Ashridge, Inge worked for Chatham House, the influential think tank for international affairs, as a Manager of the Energy, Environment and Development Programme. Previously she worked for Shell in Sustainability and as a Business Consultant in Siemens.

Chris Nichols

Chris+Nichols

Chris is joint head of the Strategy Engagement practice at Ashridge Consulting. His approach to consulting is based on curiosity and learning – there is always another perspective, another approach and something new to learn. He maintains a wide ranging interest in helping client companies to have better quality discussions about strategy, change, innovation and risk. Chris is especially interested in the relationship between psychology, psychotherapy and strategic thinking – he believes it is important that we defragment the different areas of expertise so we can explore new organisational potential in a more creative way.

Gill Coleman

Gill has been engaged for more than 15years in developing and delivering education for managers on corporate social responsibility and sustainability. She worked with Anita Roddick on establishing the New Academy of Business, a radical business education venture, and helped start the MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice at the University of Bath, with which she was a core contributor and tutor. She is committed to the use of participative learning approaches and action research, and has worked with a wide range of adult learners from business, the public and community sectors, to facilitate personal and organisational change.

Chris is an Associate of the Ashridge Centre for Business and Sustainability. He has worked on a wide range of research and consultancy projects. His areas of interest and expertise include the responsibilities of business, organisational accountability, and approaches to research.

Edgar Wille

Edgar Wille is an Ashridge Associate currently producing book reviews for Ashridge Virtual Learning Resource Centre. As programme Director from 1992 - 2007 for Ashridge in central and Eastern Europe, he ran Ashridge’s senior executive development programmes for the British Know-How Fund and the United Nations Development Programme which helped some 80 Czech and Slovak companies to adapt to the market economy.

Eileen is the Research Office team administrator, providing administrative support to the team and research centres. Eileen works closely with the Ashridge Centre for Business and Sustainability and is also administrator for the executive education programmes Integrating Corporate Responsibility and Managing Corporate Community Investment.
